Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you that the sea freight rates are currently facing a significant increase due to stricter sanctions imposed by the United States on China, which have almost halted Chinese exports to the United States since yesterday.
In response to this situation, Chinese companies are opting to use Asian routes for transshipment before shipping goods to the United States. During this process, the Malaysian route serves as a transshipment hub, causing a surge in cargo inflow and a sharp increase in freight demand. Consequently, shipping companies are opting for higher-priced routes, thereby increasing the current shipping costs.
We apologize for the temporary price adjustment, and we were informed of this increase by the shipping companies only this evening (May 17).
Effective May 18, our West Malaysia and East Malaysia private sea freight rates will increase by RM 40 per cubic meter; however, sea freight small parcel rates will remain unaffected.
The new rates will apply to newly submitted shipments.
At this moment, we cannot predict how long this price increase will last, as it is due to national sanctions. We hope for your understanding.
